Therapy for people with ADHD

Finally, a therapist who can understand where you’re coming from.

ADHD Therapy in Chandler, Arizona

It’s time to take off that mask and finally allow yourself to shine.

Let’s be honest:

Your recent ADHD diagnosis feels overwhelming and confusing

-You can’t stop thinking of all the help you needed as a child, but didn’t receive…

-You wonder how many of your major life decisions were made impulsively…

-You can’t help but question why it took you so long to realize you have ADHD…

You deserve a therapist who understands your journey.

Hi, I’m Shannon.

You’ve been masking your whole life. Take time to sit with a therapist who gives you the space to truly be yourself.

As a therapist who was also diagnosed with ADHD during adulthood, I understand the impact of receiving that diagnosis later in life… and what it feels like to suspect you’re “different”, but not be able to pinpoint exactly how or why.

Therapy with me is warm and welcoming. We will move at a pace that feels comfortable to you, as we work through the places in your life that need and deserve healing.

While I’ll be someone to hold you accountable, I also want you to feel a sense of self-compassion in the process. You’ve been through so much, and you don’t have to work so hard anymore just to feel understood.

A woman with long dark hair, wearing a tan blazer, black top, and dark jeans, is sitting on a dark gray sofa in a cozy room with modern decor. She is smiling and looking at the camera. Behind her is a wall with a white hanging banner that says 'come as you are,' a shelf with books, a clock, and decorative items.

How is therapy different with you?

If you have ADHD, you may never have worked with a therapist who truly understands how to approach your unique needs. Know that at Seen Known Loved Therapy in Chandler, AZ, I have experience and advanced training in working with ADHD, and truly believe that therapy needs to adjust to the client, not that the client needs to fit in the parameters of traditional talk therapy. We might use fidget tools and toys in session, draw or color while we talk, play games, or simply sit and chat - whatever you need that day is the basis for how we will approach our session.

When working with ADHD in therapy, my approach is one that combines tips and techniques, as well as addresses the inner narrative that we each have in our minds. Those with ADHD receive 20,000 additional negative messages by the time they are 12 years old (according to Jillian Enright, Autism and ADHD Coach at Neurodiversity Manitoba in Canada). This means that we have more work to do to help you find your inner confidence and calm those negative messages inside your mind.
